Additional Info About Our Church
A conservative, revitalizing church seeking to make mature disciples of Jesus Christ in Greenville, South Carolina.
Mission:
We exist to make mature disciples of Jesus Christ by equipping them for a life that serves their home, neighborhood, and world for the glory of God. We exist to know God, to love God, and to serve God.
Vision:
We desire to be a church that helps people worship Jesus Christ, grow in the Faith, and serve others for the Kingdom of God. We hope to be a revitalized church that emphasizes the importance of a deep relationship with Jesus Christ.
Purpose:
We desire to be people that are Bible-based. Because Scripture is the inspired Word of God, we believe that everything we do needs to be governed by the Bible. We emphasize strong, exegetical preaching and teaching of the Word of God in our services and Sunday School classes and we encourage the personal reading and studying of Scripture at home.
We desire to be a congregation that is Discipleship-focused. Jesus wants people to follow Him. The idea implies an active seeking of Him, a desire to reach others, and a heart for others to grow in Christlikeness. Everything we do at Rutherford Road is intended to help people become more like Jesus Christ.
We desire to be a church that Worships Authentically. True worship of Jesus Christ involves knowing Him, honoring Him, and obeying Him. Everything we do during our services is designed to encourage knowing Him through preaching and teaching, honoring Him through singing and praying, and obeying Him through the ordinances.
We desire to be community that is Service-Oriented. God does not intend for His people to only serve Him on Sunday. We best show our love for Him by serving Him throughout the week at work, at home, and at school. He is best served by our willingness to glorify Him by loving Him and loving our neighbors.
