Additional Info About Our Church
We are a community of Christians who worship God the Father, through his Son our Lord Jesus Christ, in the power of the Holy Spirit, and do so in accordance with the classical Anglican "Common Prayer" tradition.
If you are looking for a church which combines traditional, dignified, reverent worship "in the beauty of holiness," orthodox theology and traditional moral standards, and a friendly, welcoming environment, which seeks to serve God, our neighbors, and Creation itself, we hope you will find your church home with us.
We use the 1928 Book of Common Prayer, the Authorized ("King James") or Revised Standard Versions of the Holy Bible, and traditional hymnody, looking to Scripture, Tradition, and our God-given faculty of Reason to make sense of the challenges we face in today's world.
We are grateful to our host church, Westminster United Methodist, for providing us with the space to worship!
Mission:
As a local expression of Christ's one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church, our mission is to worship and glorify God -- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit -- and to edify His people: that is, to help them grow in the knowledge and love of the Lord.
Vision:
Toward that end, we seek to: Know God our Heavenly Father and make Him known, through Jesus Christ his Son our Lord, in the power of the Holy Spirit. Offer dignified, reverent worship "in the beauty of holiness," as is "our bounden duty and service." Love our neighbors as ourselves, expressing this love in acts of service and outreach to our local community and beyond. Practice due and proper stewardship of this good Earth which God has given us, knowing that we cannot love the Creator while despising His Creation. Offer parishioners opportunities to deepen their faith and their knowledge thereof through Christian education and formation.
Purpose:
Our purpose is to provide a classical, traditional Anglican Christian witness in the Westminster and larger Carroll County area, and to welcome both those who may feel "unchurched" by the actions of mainline liturgical churches, as well as those (such as reenactors, living historians, and others) who may or may not feel welcomed by more "conventional" or established churches.
