Northview is a multi-generational church. Here are our distinctives. We value:
DISCIPLE-MAKING: We will seek to reproduce our Bible-believing, God-honoring, Spirit-led lives in others. Matthew 28:19-20; Romans 8:9; Philippians 4:8-9
PARTICIPATORY GATHERINGS: The gathering time will be designed to facilitate intimacy with God for each person. We are striving for life-changing, inspiring, God-honoring worship through song, prayer, Scripture reading, and community. Romans 12:1-2; Ephesians 5:19; Philippians 4:6; Acts 2:42
CHURCH-SCATTERED EVANGELISM: We believe the most effective evangelism takes place Monday through Saturday in the community, at the workplace, and in the family. Acts 1:8; Ephesians 6:4; 1 Peter 3:15
SEEKER-AWARE: Our worship gatherings will be primarily geared toward the spiritual feeding of believers. Yet, we will always strive to be aware of seekers who may be attending. EMPOWERING: The leadership's role will be to applaud and encourage a member? s ministry initiatives, not stifle them. Creativity and innovation will be championed, as well as prayerful evaluation of what works. 1 Corinthians 12:4-6; 1 Thessalonians 5:11; 1 Peter 5:2
CONNECTING: We commit to loving one another in the context of community groups. We will structure the church to facilitate and strengthen biblical relationships, breaking large groups into smaller groups whenever possible. Romans 12:5; Galatians 6:2; Hebrews 10:24-25
TIME-SENSITIVE: We will strongly encourage members to make wise time commitments and teach believers how to prayerfully schedule their time for a balanced Spirit-led life. Psalm 90:12; Ecclesiastes 3:1-8; Ephesians 5:15-16
SPIRIT-CONSCIOUS: Success is based on what God is doing in and through Northview. We measure success with how the Holy Spirit moved during a certain activity and whether Jesus Christ was glorified. John 4:23; Ephesians 5:18; 1 Thessalonians 5:19
EVERY MEMBER A MINISTER: We believe in the "priesthood" of all believers, that each believer has at least one spiritual gift to use for the good of the body and that the primary role of the Pastor is to equip the saints to do the work of the ministry. Ephesians 4:11-12; 1 Peter 2:9; 4:10
