Additional Info About Our Church
Whether you are new to Allen, new to Texas, new to Methodism, or new to Christianity, coming to a strange place with new faces, new practices, and new music, can cause some anxiety and trepidation. However, when you step in the doors at FUMC Allen, we expect you to be greeted by a friendly face who can quickly help you find where you need to go, be it Sunday morning, evening, or during the week.
Overall, the atmosphere at our church is fairly casual. The people of FUMC Allen are a friendly group who genuinely welcome all who attend. They are people just like you who share many of the same struggles and concerns of daily life. Our members are supportive without being intrusive or judgmental.
Daybreak Worship meets at 8:15am with a service that sets the tone for the day. The music is modern and upbeat with guitars and drum and a variety of music teams leading the worship experience. The message of Jesus is authentically presented in a way that is relevant to your everyday life. The talks are meaningful and uplifting, often with a little humor thrown in.
At 9:30am, our Traditional Worship features the great hymns of our faith and choral music by the Chancel Choir accompanied by our newly formed orchestra. This service includes acts of praise, confession, thanksgiving, proclamation, creeds of the Church, and dedication. Sermons are biblically based and seek to emphasize spiritual growth and Christian service.
At 11:00am, we offer a Contemporary Worship service where we praise God through music, connect with God through prayer, learn about God through scripture and sermon, and experience creative ways of connecting what we learn and how we live through the use of multimedia and contemporary Christian music led by the Praise Team.
We offer Sunday school at the 9:30am and 11:00am hours where children, youth, and adults learn more about the Bible and their faith. Nursery is open throughout the morning for children ages two and younger.
