Additional Info About Our Church
First Church of God is a Holy Spirit driven church. Welcoming Spirit of Love. Our average adult age is approximately 50 years old.
The Church of God headquarters at Anderson Indiana began in the 1880's as a movement within existing churches. Rather than a denomination, it is actually a movement focused on Christian unity and re-establishment of the New Testament standard of faith and life. We believe in the Divine inspiration of God through His scriptures; Forgiveness of sin through the atonement of Christ and the repentance of the believer; the experience of holiness; personal return of Christ; unconnected with the millennial reign; the kingdom of God as established; final judgment; resurrection of the dead; reward of the righteous; and punishment of the wicked. We recognize Ordinance - Baptism by immersion, practice foot washing and observe the Lord's Supper, but not as a condition of fellowship or salvation. We believe acceptance of fellowship based on spiritual experience with Christ. The true church is the body of Christ, made up of all Christians.
