Additional Info About Our Church
The Federated Church of Livingston is an open and accepting fellowship of individuals and families of many backgrounds and traditions. We are two joined congregations and denominations with a long history of cooperation, united to form a stronger, more inclusive group.
We were originally founded in 1851 as the Livingston Baptist Church. In 1978 we were incorporated as the Federated Church of Livingston with the joining of Olivet United Church of Christ.
As part of the heritage from both of our congregations, we affirm the rights and responsibilities of religious liberty, individual conscience, social concern, mutual respect, local autonomy, and informed study of scripture. We find these principles in the teachings of Jesus Christ, as experienced in the Lord's Prayer, Golden Rule, and Great Commandment, through history to the present time.
Duel denomination: American Baptist Churches USA and United Church of Christ
