Vision:
The word Emmaus comes from a story in the Gospel of Luke 24:13-35. In this narrative, Jesus joins two discouraged travelers on the road from Jerusalem to a village called Emmaus. As a result of their time with Jesus, their "eyes were opened" (v31) and their lives were changed. There are five aspects of the story that serve as the vision for our church: Jesus, Bible, Community, Prayer, and Mission.
