Additional Info About Our Church
The Catholic Community at Carolina Forest (CCCF) came about because of a vision developed by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Charleston in the mid-1990s. At that time the diocese purchased 73 acres in Carolina Forest for a future school (Seton, named after Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton) and parish; knowing that Horry County's population was bound to grow exponentially.
Bishop Robert E. Guglielmone decided in March of 2020 that Father David Nerbun should found the new Catholic community by establishing a Sunday Mass at Seton School. Since July 26, 2020, CCCF has tripled its weekend Mass schedule and attendance; and has begun regular faith, service, and fellowship initiatives.
CCCF has taken the young modern day Italian Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati as her patron and seeks to follow his motto "Verso la alto! (Climb to the heights!)" by going out and living the eight beatitudes in our neighborhoods with cheer and good humor.
Although CCCF does not yet have its own church, it utilizes Seton School for Sunday and Holy Day worship and utilizes other local parish churches for weddings and funerals.
Come worship, grow your faith, and climb to new heights with others.
Mission:
Preparing disciples for the good adventure.
