Additional Info About Our Church
We are a member of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod, a church body dedicated to proclaiming the saving Gospel of Jesus Christ purely. Ascension Lutheran Church formed as a result of a merger of St. John Lutheran Church of Niles and Our Savior Lutheran Church of Norwood Park.
Mission:
The purpose of the congregation shall be that to which God has called the Whole Christian Church on earth; namely, to build His Kingdom to His honor and glory and the saving of souls (Matt. 28:18-20, 1 Peter 2:9-10). In the power of the Holy Spirit, we seek to win souls to life in the one true God and to nurture them in the knowledge and reverence of God through the preaching of the Gospel and the proper administration of His Sacraments.
